In the early 1920s, the German author, Hugo Hartung spent a few weeks in Hódmezővásárhelykutasipuszta as an exchange student, and fell in love with the scenery, culture, hospitality and certainly with the daughter of the local station master. Later on he wrote a book called "Ich denke oft an Piroschka" (I often think about Piroschka). This book became a best seller in German language areas and they made a film out of it too, which was also very popular. During our tours in Székkutas, we take a horse and wagon trip to the original buildings where the book is being played, including an old windmill, the house where the writer was accomodated, and the old train station. You can also get familiar with the tipically Hungarian Grey Cattle, while we visit a herd. We also take a garland to the bust of Hugo Hartung, which was erected in the main square of the village. The tour finishes with a rich dinner in one of the farm houses with local hospitality from an outside oven.

We show you, how Hungarians got married traditionally, especially around this area. The master of ceremony (vőfély) will introduce you to the funny little games and customs the bride and groom had to play during their wedding ceremony in the old days. Folk dancers will make sure that you have a good time, with traditional Hungarian Csárdás dancing. They will also teach you a few basic steps to make sure you learn something authentic. An English speaking local guide will translate everything for you. The musik will be played by a local folk band. If there is a small group of guests, there is a possibility to take part at a real wedding, if the marrying couple is agreeing to it.

This area is reasonably flat and as such, it is the most suitable for bike tours. Especially that there are cycle roads everywhere around here. We will go to Mártély, and have a picnic on the side of the river, while we can enjoy nature and the wildlife in beautiful surroundings.
